wrapping it up

Presents, as well as my cold. Finally starting to feel better. I still sound like an old man who's been smoking for the past 40 years, but I think I may be able to venture out of the house today. Being cooped up has given me time to wrap some Christmas presents and get some knitting done. I have to say (other than the fact that it's nearly 80 degrees outside and that I work retail), I'm starting to get very excited about the coming holiday!

Have to work today...unfortunately. Still feeling crappy, but maybe work will take my mind off of it. And once I get through today, I have tomorrow off for more recovery. Wish me luck.

trying to take it easy

So, if you know me, you know that I rarely ever call in sick to work. However, today was one of those rare days. I am spending the day laying on couch and watching movies with Noah (who is also sick). Feeling very very very very very very blech!

I want this Sunday

My health back!!! I seem to have caught Noah's cold. And this is after I've been dealing with a sinus infection for over a month now. I am definitely ready to no longer be sick! Anyone else dealing with a nasty case of the ickyness? If so, you have my sympathies! So today, instead of seeing some material camera-related thing that I want, you get a cute picture of a capybara that I saw at the San Francisco zoo. It's like the biggest hamster ever!!!

It's Caturday!

So, I had a request to do cat pictures every Saturday after the one I posted last week. And seeing as I do tend to take a million pictures of my cat it seemed like a good idea to me. So, enjoy!

Or in my case, happy green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, maybe gravy if it's not meaty, maybe stuffing if it wasn't cooked in the bird, and pie day (the curse of being a vegetarian during the holidays) ! Although, this year since I'm working, I guess it's happy whatever Noah brings back to me from his family's house day! Now I'm off for a Thanksgiving morning hike with some friends! I hear it's supposed to rain tomorrow. So today Loki is soaking up all the sunshine he can get. Right now he's snoozing in front of the window with a silly cat grin on his face. This was one of his last moments of consciousness before drifting off for his mid-morning nap.

Yeah, I know I said I was done with zoo pictures, but life's been hectic lately and I haven't had much time to go out and play with my camera. Deal with it!

This is the view from my friends' yard. They moved to Brisbane (right outside of San Francisco) a few months ago. When we went up there for my birthday, we stopped by their new home and the view was just amazing!

This camera might look a little funny, but look at what it can do!
It takes truly panoramic pictures. You can throw the ball up into the air and this is what you get! Amazing! I has 36 mobile phone cameras all over the ball and when it reaches the peak of it's flight, it snaps a picture of everything. Pretty cool.

Gotta love Friday!

Working 49 hours this week. Today is my one day off! I know it'll be filled with laundry, but I'm still loving that I'm not at work.

It is also my good friend's birthday. He's turning 30 today and is fairly sure that at 11:11 (he's not sure whether AM or PM), he'll suddenly have god-like super powers. Hope you also have a spectacular 11-11-11!

Good Morning Glory

This morning glory is actually growing in our kitchen. It's climbed up the window blinds and has twisted its way all the way up to the ceiling. We know that we'll have to cut it back eventually, but I just love it.

I was at Trader Joe's a few days ago and they have this amazing deal on roses! Five stems plus filler for just $4.99. I thought to myself, "Hmmmm, I could buy myself roses. Or, I could take some home for Noah!" How often do boys get flowers? Not very. How appreciative are they when they do get them? Very! And it gave me a chance to play with my new lens.

Macro Monday

Ok, taking a break from San Francisco pictures. This is one of my first pictures with my new macro lens. I definitely need to get used to it, but I am in love already! I can't wait to take it out for an adventure. My boyfriend gives the best gifts!

This is a Seitz panorama camera. Looks like it could take some pretty amazing shots. Fitting in my purse (or camera bag) might be a bit of an issue though.
