I am not amused
Pretty sure that's what Loki thinks every time I start taking pictures of him. He always seems to get an exasperated look on his face. You'd think he'd be used to it by now. I think I successfully captured a not quite so pissed off look in this one though. Enjoy!

what a great idea
My step brother posted this on his facebook yesterday and I thought it was such an amazing idea. Irina Werning has taken old photographs of people and then recreated them 20 years later. Check out her site. Definitely some great shots. Now it's time for me to go out in the sunshine and take my own photographs!

Pretty Bird
When I was young, I always called Turkey Vultures "pretty birds." I always got weird looks from people because, well, have you seen a turkey vulture's head? They're bald and wrinkly and not very attractive. But when they soar through the sky, rarely ever flapping the huge wings...well, how can you say that's not beautiful? The turkey vultures are one of my favorite things about hiking here in San Luis Obispo. Hope you enjoy!

and another one
Here's another shot from our hike. This was on our way back down when we ended up on the shaded side of the mountain. It was amazing the difference in temperature as soon as the sun was no longer on us. It had to have been at least 1o-15 degrees cooler on this side. And the path, much more slippery...my bottom can tell you that those rocks hurt when you fall on them.

it was a lovely hike
So, as I posted last weekend, Noah and I hiked up Madonna Mountain. We chose the best day for it. I don't think the weather could have been any better. For the next few days, you'll get to see a few of the photographs that I took that day. This first one is a bit of barbed wire that caught my eye. Enjoy!

Happy Romance!
I can't think of a place more romantic than Paris. With that in mind, today you get a photograph of an Eiffel Tower (obviously not the Eiffel Tower since that would never fit on my table). Even if you can't be in a romantic city, I hope you have a lovely Valentine's Day. And remember, let your loved ones know you love them everyday, not just one day a year. Believe me, your girlfriends/wives/boyfriends/husbands like to get chocolate/flowers/jewelry everyday of the year. Personally, I love it the most when I get flowers for no other reason than that it happens to be a Tuesday and Noah wants to show me that I'm special.
On a completely different note, yesterday was post #300! Quite a milestone in my mind. Thanks for sticking with me so far! Here's to at least another 300 photos to come.

always leaves me wanting more
Here's one of the first shots taken with my new lens. Of course, now I realize I need a shutter release remote because just pushing the button on a long exposure makes it too shaky. Although, I am impressed that I can actually see the craters on the moon! I've never before had a camera that would let me do that. Enjoy!
